A New Library in Watchung
UPDATE: December 6, 2018 The Watchung Borough Council rescinded, vacated, and nullified the April 19th and July 19th anti-library resolutions.
Watchung Borough Council Voted Thursday April 19, 2018 to close the library and explore a "shared services arrangement"

The Friends of the Watchung Library is pleased that on July 17, 2014, the Watchung Borough Council reaffirmed the importance of keeping a library in Watchung. At the March 17, 2016 meeting the Borough Council agreed to a compromise version of a new library design.
We are happy to see progress regarding new library plans and are proud to live in a community that embraces and enhances the opportunity for its residents to come together as a community, encourages full-year and lifelong learning, is forward thinking, and shows by its actions that it values education, knowledge and community.
Much is still unclear about the future of Watchung Library, however. To stay informed, continue to check this website and our Facebook page .
