Welcome to Second Story Books

The Friends of Watchung Library's primary fundraiser is our Book Store - our ongoing book sale. We have *hundreds* of books - fiction and nonfiction; adult and children's books; DVDs, videos, and books on CD; many in new or like-new condition. Most are still priced at a recession-busting $.50!
If you haven't checked out our Book Store recently, you are in for a pleasant surprise! This is no repository of moldy, musty cast-offs! Our selection is varied and beautiful.
There's always something good to read upstairs at the Book Sale! Check us out!

Book Donations
Friends of the Watchung Library are accepting donations of gently used books for our Second Story Bookstore. Adult fiction and nonfiction(hardcover and paperback),children’s books (all age groups), cookbooks, recent travel guides are all popular items. Please no CDs or DVDs. Funds raised from the sale of these items benefit our library and community.
“[D]on't ever apologise to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). Don't apologise to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read...”

“Second hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack.”
― Virginia Woolf |
