Welcome to Second Story Books

Picture of niche with a sign pointing towards the second hand book store

The Friends of Watchung Library's primary fundraiser is our Book Store - our ongoing book sale. While the physical bookstore is closed during renovations, be sure to visit our ebay store.
Thank you for your patronage which has:
  • Sparked a love of reading in countless children with our vibrant selection of kids' books.
  • Fueled summer adventures with beach reads and page-turners galore.
  • Offered a way for friends to support the Watchung Library with every purchase.
Stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, happy reading from the Friends of the Watchung Library!

Ebay Store

If you purchase an item from the Friends' Ebay account choose local pickup and we will deliver to you anywhere in town. If you have special items that you would like to donate for us to sell on Ebay, email or message us on Facebook and we'll check them out. We can accept newer text books, less than 2 years old, for sale. Thank you for your support of both our physical Second Story Book store and our online store.

Don't apologise to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read...”
― Neil Gaiman
“Second hand books are wild books, homeless books; they have come together in vast flocks of variegated feather, and have a charm which the domesticated volumes of the library lack.”
― Virginia Woolf
